June 15th, 2007, 12 KomentarThank’s Sindos Linux developer to give me Gyachoo binary file. It’s interesting Gyach family (Yahoo Messenger for Linux), it’s close enough with Yahoo Messenger. It’s support Webcam like other Gyach family. Still curious with this Gyachoo look? Here you can see how Gyachoo look at my machine.
So, what’s probs? Just create the packages and tadda…. every one happy, every one use Gyachoo with Zencafe…..
No, it’s not simple as that, It’s use newer GLIBC than Zencafe 1.0 use. Yes, you still can use your Zencafe 1.0 with this stuff, but it’s too risky. GLIBC is one of core library. It’s needed by whole package. If you want to update and run smoothly, you must update all of your Zencafe packages, i can say it the hard way. So, why not upgrade Zencafe to newest cycle to make it happen? Damn, there’s no simple answer to make it happen (Read my last post). If the Sindos developer can give us the Gyachoo source (may you, bro? it’s your privacy to keep the source for yours only, but will be better if Gyachoo source opened and can be used by other distro, help you much to develop it, i hope you read this post too) , i think the problem can be solved imediatelly. So, like i say, it’s hard decision for us, keep in the track to release the current version update, or release the new Zencafe version… I’m stuck….
Aaaah, never mind, it’s just my jeremiad ……

oprek punya oprek rupanya gyachoo ga bisa nyimpen settingan alias tiap dibuka settingan yg udah kita simpan kehapus. wew, what’s going on? udah g da sourcenya ga bisa nyimpen settingan pula. but it’s ok, mungkin yg default terinstall tetep gyachi atawa gyache, gyachoo ditaroh di repository aja kali yah

tanya nich om setiap kali aku install yahoo messenger versi windows lewat wine kok gambarnya hilang separo, apa harus diinstall lewat cedega soalnya kelihatannya perlu direct x untuk dapat menggunakannya, Abiword.tgz dapat diunduh di site apa soalnya kalau pakai netpkg kelamaan aku mau coba yang pakai installpkg, terakhir nich om yahoo messenger versi linux nggak bisa diinstall di zencafe yach? soalnya ada versi freebsd sama redhat aja tuh

hmmm, i’m kinda intrigue of what hudanet or sindos made. he made a fork from gyachi then he did not release the code? did cafe’s in indonesia really use this client?

@rudi hartono, yahoo messenger versi linux bisa dibilang versi jaman dulu, ga ada voice ga ada webcam, jadi percuma saja, lebih baik gunakan gaim/pidgin atau gyach, klo install versi windows dgn wine coba gunakan yahoo messenger versi 6 atau 7.
@loell, i don’t know exacly what sindos want with released the gyachoo but without the code. when he give me the binary, he don’t tell me reason behind this. so let it’s be, i think it’s his rights to do that. the developer (sindos) it self lock gyachoo configuration, so we cannot change gyahoo settings, and i think this is not good. some cafe’s that doesn’t care about settings or code use this gyach fork i think, but i don’t know how much.

hi, this seem rather late, but gyachi is open source where that gyachoo is based,
the gyachoo modder is bound to release his source code according to the license, it seem he is ignorant of how gpl code works.

yups, ethically what he do is wrong. it’s better if he opened the source. more than that it’s easily to maintain, because people can help him to develop it.
i hope he change his mind and open the source for us…..

weits.. bukan hanya “ethically” tapi dari sisi hukum itu wajib dibuka code nya. Dua project yang dijadikan base tuk gyachoo itu pake GPL sehingga seluruh turunannya WAJIB GPL juga. Kalo pake GPL, maka ketika tu program didistribusikan, maka source code harus disertakan.

hi saya sudah coba gyachoo di ubuntu mint, mint xcfe, zencafe i.2d semuanya mulus tanpa ada masalah.
sekarang pertanyaannya, kapan neh zencafe versi terbaru akan meluncur.
